Summer has come, and it's a shame to stay indoors with such beautiful weather, so we have made a new compilation for the next two weeks, with free activities that are definitely worth attending:



Painting Exhibition: "Between What Was and What Becomes" – June 1-8 (Opening: June 4, 7:00 PM), FormArt Galleries, Bd. Gen. Gh. Magheru no. 18 (Public transport: M2 Piața Romană, Bus 133, 381)

The exhibition by artist Larissa Chireață features a series of abstract artworks that analyze the order of visual structures in contrast to objective reality. The opening will be presented by art critic Dr. Marius Țiba and curated by architect Magda Mihăilescu.



Antique Market III – June 4-7, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Romexpo, Pavilion C2 (Public transport: Bus 105, 331, 335, Tram 41)

A fair dedicated to historically valuable objects, bringing together a selection of vintage pieces, collectibles, interior decorations, and rare accessories. It is a space for enthusiasts of antiques and classic interior design.



UNATC Graduates Gala – Projects and Shows (June 2026) – June 4-20, UNATC, Str. Matei Voievod no. 75-77 (Public transport: M1 Iancului, Bus 311, Trolleybus 70, 86)

The graduates' festival brings together numerous performances from the fields of acting, scenography, and puppet theater. Among the most important shows scheduled during this period are "Portugal" (June 4-5), "The Imaginary Invalid" (June 6-7), "Games in the Backyard" (June 8-9), "Twelfth Night" (June 10-11), and the physical theater production "The Perfection Network..." by Andrea Gavriliu (June 19-20). All shows require prior reservation by completing the official forms specific to each play (available on UNATC platforms).



Acoustic Concert by Claudiu Mirea on the terrace – June 4, 9:00 PM, Hard Rock Cafe, Str. Kiseleff 32 (Public transport: M2 Aviatorilor, Bus 131, 331, 335)

An acoustic recital on the terrace where Claudiu Mirea performs famous songs from international charts, specially reorchestrated with summer rhythms. It is recommended to reserve tables in advance either online (https://bit.ly/rezervaacum), or by phone at 0754 400 900.



Theater Festival-Competition "Stage of Dreams" – June 5-6, National Palace of Children (Public transport: M2 Tineretului, Bus 313, 381)

An event dedicated to young theater enthusiasts (ages 10-19) from the metropolitan area, designed to develop expressiveness and teamwork. The festival features two competitive sections: theater troupes (high school and middle school) and individual monologues, bringing performances from Romanian and universal literature to the stage.



Arthur and miniGrafic launches and workshops at Bookfest – June 5-7, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Romexpo, Pavilion B2, Bookfest Junior Stand (Public transport: Bus 105, 331, 335, Tram 41)

The series of events dedicated to children's literature at the Bookfest Book Fair includes: a meeting with author Petia Kukodeva on Friday at 12:00 PM (Arena Stage), the launch of the magazine "The Order of Storytellers" no. 21 on Saturday at 12:00 PM, the launch of "miniGrafic Club" no. 3 with local illustrators on Saturday at 1:00 PM, the presentation of the book "The Mysterious Disappearance of a Garden Gnome" in the presence of Matei Vișniec on Saturday at 2:00 PM, and the launch of the book "Dante 35 Star" on Sunday at 1:00 PM.



VINYL FEST at nJOY – June 5-7, nJOY Garden & Club, Str. Mihai Bravu no. 223 (Public transport: M1 Piața Muncii, Bus 104, Tram 1, 10)

Three days dedicated to analog music culture, bringing together vinyl collectors, audio cassettes, CDs, turntables, and vintage sound equipment. The festival also hosts "Open Deck Vinyl Sessions" (3 hours daily, with 30-minute sets for anyone who wants to mix from the present collections), followed by themed parties provided by local DJs (Ghara, Vlad Oscar, Ilauv).



Cotroceni Bazaar – 10th Edition – June 6-7, Streets and yards of the Cotroceni neighborhood (Public transport: M1/M3 Eroilor, M5 Academia Militară, Bus 122, 137, 226)

The largest community event opening private spaces to the public. The neighborhood hosts yards selling items like "garage sales", guided architectural tours by Cristi Radu (10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with online reservation at https://bit.ly/4uHRkjQ) and Cristian Gheorghe, a vegan community picnic in Romniceanu Park, and live concerts organized in the residents' yards (including performances by artists such as Jurjak, The Amsterdams, and The Fishermen Quintet). The sports program includes kayaking at the Romanian Opera Dock, yoga, and roundnet on the Military Academy plateau. Additionally, the BDF GO circuit offers dozens of craft workshops, urban drawing, and exhibitions in local galleries (Gallery IVAN, Gallery Romniceanu). Given the narrow streets of the neighborhood, the organizers recommend exclusive pedestrian access.



UPSCALE Auto & Model Show – 2nd Edition – June 6-7, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Auchan Titan Shopping Center, 1st Floor (Public transport: M1 Titan, Bus 311, 101, Tram 19, 23)

An exhibition dedicated to the automotive community and collectors of premium car models. The event brings together enthusiasts of spectacular vehicles and offers the opportunity for direct interaction with exhibitors. Participants can purchase car models, and purchases of at least 100 lei ensure registration for a raffle with collectible prizes.



Barre & Pilates at Cotroceni Bazaar – June 6-7, 5:00 PM, DreamBody Barre Studio, Str. Nicolae Tomescu no. 23 (Public transport: Bus 122, 137, 226, 385)

Free training sessions offered during the community weekend in the neighborhood. On Saturday, a Barre Fitness session is scheduled, and on Sunday, an hour of Pilates. Participants must bring their own water bottle. Limited spots are available (9 people per session), access is exclusively based on prior phone registration at 0736426924.



Improvisational Theater at nJOY – June 7, 7:30 PM, nJOY Garden & Club, Str. Mihai Bravu no. 223 (Public transport: M1 Piața Muncii, Bus 104, Tram 1, 10)

An interactive comedy improvisation show with six actors, coordinated by "Trupa Durii". The scenes and direction of the show are dictated in real-time by audience suggestions. Reservations can be made by phone (0722 672 366), and at the end of the show, the organizers accept voluntary donations.



Comic Improvisation Show – Impro Fly – June 7, 8:00 PM, Improteca, Str. Comănița no. 9 (Public transport: Bus 133, Trolleybus 79, 86)

The Improfly troupe presents the format "Once Upon a Melody", a long-form show that explores the hidden meanings and stories behind the most famous musical refrains. The actors (Dana Dinca, Laura Dragoi, Ingrid Barbulescu, Sonia Neagoe, Andu Reghina, Tiberiu Spatareanu) use suggestions from famous songs to create spontaneous comedy scenes. The event operates on a voluntary donation basis at the end of the show.



Film Screening: Melodies at Costinești – June 7, 8:00 PM, Trei Bețivi Bar, Str. Vasile Lascăr 66 (Public transport: Bus 133, Trolleybus 79, 86)

Viewing of a vintage Romanian musical comedy about a group of young people who want to become a rock band during the socialist regime. The film is shot in the context of the rock festival at Costinești and features appearances by well-known names such as Sfinx, Semnal M, and Post Scriptum.



Astrofest 2026 by Science and Technology – June 12 (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM) and June 13 (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM), Crângași Park (Public transport: M1 Crângași, Tram 41, Bus 162, 163)

A festival dedicated to astronomy and exact sciences, built around observations made with the largest telescopes in Romania. The technical program includes popular science conferences (with special guest the only Romanian cosmonaut, Dumitru Prunariu), practical demonstrations with robots and drones, and interactive scientific experiments. The event also integrates the European Astrophotography Salon and a series of screenings as part of the Science, SF & Animation Film Festival.



Guided Walking Tour AMTeatru – June 14, 4:00 PM, Meeting Point: National Theater Bucharest (TNB) (Public transport: M2 Universitate, Bus 100, 137, 381)

An urban documented circuit, organized to mark two years of activity of the AMTeatru platform. The route focuses on the architectural history of theater buildings in the central area of the Capital and the evolution of the local theatrical ecosystem, while also providing an objective analysis and recommendations for current productions in the season. The graduation project of fourth-year students (Acting specialization). The show follows the story of four sisters who reunite after years for a mission related to their mother's disappearance. OFFBEAT 3. An Alternative History of Music – May 5 - June 30 (sessions on May 5, 19, 26 and June 2, 16, 30), 7:00 PM, Goethe-Institut Bucharest, Calea Dorobanți 32 (Public transport: M2 Piața Romană, Bus 133, 301, 331, 381)

An extensive series of lectures and hearings curated by Elena Dobândă, dedicated to sound archaeology and alternative music history, conducted exclusively in English. The project explores music as a historical artifact and is condensed into six thematic meetings held by collectors and researchers: Guy-Marc Hinant (Sub Rosa, May 5) proposes an analysis of listening as a psychological act, complemented by mixes from "An Anthology of Noise and Electronic Music"; Emanuele Carcano (Alga Marghen, May 19) discusses sound poetry and the Fluxus movement; Hisham Mayet (Sublime Frequencies, May 26) presents unique field recordings documented in western Libya; Rui Pedro Dâmaso (June 2) explores the experimental scene in non-democratic Europe (1950-2000); Andy Votel (Finders Keepers, June 16) recontextualizes lost international film music, while Dragoș Rusu (The Attic, June 30) delivers a lecture on sound anthropology about the tulnic, followed by a deconstruction of early Romanian folklore from the archives of the Institute of Ethnography and Folklore.
