Digital Duel by NewsVibe. TOP 5 parties in the Romanian online space, in the last week

The last 7 days have brought considerable excitement to the presidential election campaign, after the Easter holidays, when interest in politics in the media and online had dropped significantly.
According to the data aggregated and analyzed with the support of NewsVibe, an advanced media intelligence tool with AI support, compared to the previous week the number of mentions in the most relevant online sources increased significantly for almost all parties included in the evaluation. The exception is USR, for which the number of mentions in online sources decreased compared to the previous analysis interval.
The parties' media coverage in influential web and social media sources was significantly influenced by events such as the Ploiești Court of Appeal decision, which had suspended the CCR ruling on the annulment of the 2024 presidential elections, and the TV debates of the presidential candidates, which dominated the agenda in the last few days.

VOLVOLUME OF MENTIONS The virtual curve of the evolution of mentions over the last 7 days shows some clear peaks. For AUR, the most important spike in mentions occurs at the moment of the Ploiești Court of Appeal's decision on the suspension of the CCR ruling annulling the 2024 presidential elections. For PSD, PNL and USR, the most important peaks of mentions occur on the day of the presidential debate on Digi24, in which only candidates associated with these parties participated.

COMPETITIVE COMPARISON NewsVibe's competitive analysis engine evaluates the strength of political actors to penetrate the online space, directly compared to their competitors.
Last week marks a return to the trend seen in previous weeks, especially before the start of the presidential election campaign. Thus, although the share of mentions out of the total for PSD and PNL is 30% and 28% respectively, their estimated impact as a proportion of the total is lower - 28% and 24% respectively. At the same time, the estimated share of impact of mentions of AUR is 26% and of USR 19% of the total.

IMPACT. At the impact level - defined as the estimate of the total audience reached by the mentions of the political actors analyzed - the virtual curve of the estimated views is influenced by the same events that also led to the highest number of mentions: the Ploiești Court of Appeal decision and the TV debates during the presidential election campaign.
Notable differences appear, however, in terms of the continuity of the impact of these mentions - the impact of mentions of AUR was felt both on the day of the Ploiești Court of Appeal decision and in the following days, when the topic continued to be discussed. The impact for PSD (in particular) and PNL has remained relatively constant since the beginning of the last week of the campaign (when the first TV debate of the presidential candidates took place). There has also been an increase in the impact of mentions of AUR, on the back of George Simion's participation in the Hotnews interview.

ACCELERATION TRENDS. The most significant jumps in online visibility, as identified by the NewsVibe platform's own algorithm, are recorded in the case of SOS Romania, amid the dispute between Diana Șoșoaca and Andrei Gușă, after the latter announced that he would vote for Crin Antonescu. However, the number of mentions of SOS Romania remains consistently low.
