The European Union could grant Ukraine between 2.5 and 2.7 billion euros, after the necessary reforms are adopted by the Parliament in Kiev.

The European Union could grant Ukraine a new tranche of financial aid, estimated between 2.5 and 2.7 billion euros, provided that the parliament in Kiev adopts the necessary laws for the reforms required by the community bloc. The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, stated at an event in Washington that the first tranche of a larger loan of 90 billion euros will soon arrive in Kiev, previously blocked by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

After the elections won by the pro-European opposition in Hungary, the unlocking of funds is expected. Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhi Marcenko emphasized that Ukraine's funding deficit will be covered once the EU loan is unlocked.

Kos also mentioned that the funds will be granted through the Ukraine Facility mechanism, and Ukraine must implement 173 reforms to receive the aid. Ukraine's economic stability has been praised by the IMF, and Kos expressed optimism about obtaining the 90 billion euro loan.
