In Warsaw, the finance ministers of Germany and Poland, Lars Klingbeil and Andrzej Domanski, stated that the two countries must take joint responsibility for the economic relaunch of Europe, considering the slow growth of the continent compared to the United States and China. Domanski emphasized that it is essential to make Europe more competitive and that both countries are ready to develop economic policies to bring Europe back to the forefront of global economic powers. Klingbeil added that the European Union needs to become more efficient and capable of managing the current complexity. The ministers promised to collaborate to unblock projects stalled by the EU decision-making process and to form ad-hoc coalitions to advance initiatives without requiring the agreement of all member states. Domanski stressed that Europe must accelerate to remain competitive on the global stage.
