The regulatory authority Arcom has requested Internet providers and search engines to block 35 official websites of sanctioned Russian publications, including sputniknews.lat and rtenfrancais.tv. Arcom also proposes to stop the broadcasting in France of these publications and their content on online platforms. This action comes in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which has led to the blocking of several Russian channels by the satellite operator Eutelsat. The authority emphasized that the programs of these channels promote incitement to hatred and violence, violating journalistic standards. Additionally, Arcom has stopped the broadcasting of RT France, in accordance with a decision by the European Union, and has continued to block other sanctioned Russian channels.
