The power plant in Brazi, managed by OMV Petrom, was shut down on Tuesday due to a lack of water in Prahova County, which led to the interruption of drinking water supply for tens of thousands of residents in 12 localities. OMV Petrom informed Transelectrica about the closure of the plant, citing a 'reduced technological water flow' caused by damages reported by Apele Române. The shutdown will take place from December 2, 12:00 PM, until December 4, 01:00 AM. This measure significantly affects the local energy system, considering that the Brazi plant, with an installed capacity of 860 MW, is one of the most important sources of gas energy in Romania. The company also notified the European REMIT platform about the unavailability of the plant's capacity during this period.
