Comparison May 2025 vs. November 2024. Urban-rural split in turnout by 1 p.m. in the first round of the presidential election

By 1pm, 2,179,289 Romanians in urban areas, representing 56.99% of those who voted, had turned out to the polls. In rural areas, 1,644,653 votes were cast, representing 43.01% of those who cast their ballots.

Compared to November 2024, the voting dynamics are roughly the same. In 2024, urban areas accounted for 56.07% of the total number of votes registered by 1pm and rural areas accounted for the difference of 43.93%.
