During the electoral debates, independent candidate Nicușor Dan accused Crin Antonescu of approving an illegal transfer of the Herăstrău park land to the private domain of the state, an act signed in 1999. The Declic community confirmed that the land was illegally transferred and later sold for a derisory sum. Liviu Doară, an activist, tried to prevent this action, but Antonescu signed the ownership certificate for BTT SA, even though the land belonged to the capital's City Hall.
