The Interior Ministry (MAI) and the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) have rejected accusations by George Simion, the AUR candidate, that there are 1.7 million deceased people on the voting lists. The MAI has confirmed that the National Register of Register of Persons contains 8,463 people over the age of 100, and that the data is updated based on official documents. The AEP emphasized that they have not received any official complaints about errors on the voter lists. Both institutions called for accountability in disseminating the information.
