8 p.m.: In the last hour, Romanians have turned out to vote at a faster pace than in the November 2024 presidential elections

At national level, 8,167,703 Romanians voted in the first 13 hours after the opening of polling stations in Romania. Of these, 4,554,188 were in urban areas and 3,613,515 in rural areas.

In comparison, in the first 13 hours of the 2019 presidential elections, 8,534,072 voted in the first round (4,955,301 in urban areas and 3,578,771 in rural areas).

In the first 11 hours of the 2024 presidential elections, 8,534,072 voted in the first round.451,787 Romanians (4,714,374 in urban areas and 3,737,413 in rural areas).

In the Diaspora, 939,077 Romanians had voted by 8 pm, compared to 767,579 in November 2024 or 641,542 in the first round of the 2019 presidential elections.
