The University of Bucharest reported a record number of applications in the July 2026 admission session, with 6.1 applications per place for undergraduate programs and 3 for master's programs. A total of 4,868 budget places were available for undergraduate studies and 3,252 for master's studies. The highest competition for undergraduate programs was recorded in Psychology - Cognitive Sciences (22.4 candidates per place), Business Administration (16.4 candidates per place), and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (16.9 candidates per place). For master's programs, the highest competition was in Clinical Psychology (16.9 candidates per place) and Organizational Psychology (13.1 candidates per place). Compared to the 2025 session, the undergraduate programs in Geophysics and Geology saw significant increases in the number of candidates. Rector Marian Preda emphasized that the increased interest in essential fields reflects the university's efforts to adapt to market needs and to train well-prepared specialists.
