The low-cost airline Wizz Air forecasts a significant increase in demand during the summer season, with a flight schedule 17% larger compared to last year, according to statements from CEO Jozsef Varadi. While other operators, such as easyJet and TUI Group, have reported declines in bookings, Wizz Air enjoys robust demand, with summer bookings being stronger than in 2025.

The company is covered by 70% for its fuel needs during the summer and has announced the delivery of 35 new Airbus aircraft in 2026. Additionally, Wizz Air intends to renew its hedging contracts to protect itself against price volatility. Although Varadi does not expect a fuel shortage in the immediate future, he emphasized that prices could remain high.

Currently, fuel flows are being redirected from the United States to compensate for potential deficits in the Middle East, and Varadi highlighted Europe's excessive dependence on fuel from this region, suggesting a reevaluation of supply sources.
