In March 2026, the turnover in the trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 18.9% compared to February, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).


This increase is reflected both in the gross series and in the adjusted one, with a 1.1% increase adjusted for working days and seasonality. Compared to March 2025, the volume increased by 5.6% in the gross series and by 2.7% adjusted. The increases were driven by the trade of motor vehicles (+20.8%) and auto parts (+19.7%), while the trade of motorcycles decreased by 18%.


In the first three months of 2026, the turnover increased by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2025, with increases in the trade of auto parts (+1.6%) and vehicle maintenance (+1.5%), but decreases in the trade of motorcycles (-13.3%) and motor vehicles (-0.2%). Adjusted, the turnover increased by 2.1% in the same period.
