The governing coalition has decided to cap the commercial markup on basic food items until June 30, a measure appreciated by Sorin Grindeanu, who stated that 'reason has prevailed'. The PSD leader emphasized the importance of this decision, especially with the upcoming Easter holidays, and announced that the Government will approve an emergency ordinance to extend the measure.

Grindeanu mentioned that the social democrats will not give up on reducing the excise duty on fuels, proposing a flexible mechanism depending on the evolution of prices. He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of the measures and their effects, anticipating possible new decisions based on the international context and inflation.
