The audit conducted on the National Office for Gambling (ONJN) revealed significant breaches in the fulfillment of legal duties by the former management, especially in the year 2024. ONJN did not monitor the activities of gambling organizers, lacking an adequate verification of their reports. Additionally, ONJN representatives validated operators' licenses without verifying compliance with legal conditions.

The audit identified major risks of manipulating game results, with potential undeclared tax differences of up to 2.1 billion lei. Following the verifications, undeclared authorization tax differences were found, totaling 149,479,297 lei, thus harming the state budget. The Court of Accounts has notified the competent authorities for possible criminal acts, highlighting the systemic nature of the issues identified in previous audits.
