The Minister of Finance, Tanczos Barna, said that he will no longer hold this position in the new government, which is why he will not go to the EcoFIN meeting on July 8. Romania intends to propose an increase in VAT from 19% to 21% and the elimination of some VAT rates, except for food and medicines. Also, the tax on dividends could increase, and the Government will assume responsibility for the new government program. Romania will be represented at EcoFIN by Secretary of State Alin Andrieș.
