Major producers such as Rémy Cointreau and Diageo have withdrawn sales targets, hit by boycotts and tariffs. Cognac sales have fallen sharply in the US and China, and consumption trends are changing, with a preference for cheaper and ready-to-drink drinks. Health concerns are also influencing the decline in alcohol consumption, leaving the industry in an uncertain situation.
