In April 2026, the turnover in market services provided to the population decreased by 2.2% compared to March 2026 and by 10.3% compared to April 2025.

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), the volume of turnover in market services provided to the population recorded a decrease of 2.2% in April 2026 compared to March 2026, both in raw series and seasonally adjusted based on the number of working days, with a reduction of 0.9%.

Compared to April 2025, the decrease was 10.3% in raw series and 9.5% adjusted.

Gambling and recreational activities had the largest decrease (-19.1%), followed by hairdressing services (-13.7%) and hotels/restaurants (-12.9%). However, travel agencies reported an increase of 23.3%. In the first four months of 2026, turnover decreased by 9.8% compared to the same period in 2025, with significant decreases in most sectors, but with an increase of 16.9% in the activities of travel agencies. Adjusted based on working days, the decrease was 7.9%.
