On Wednesday morning, the market capitalization of Samsung Electronics reached 1.5 trillion won (approximately 1.03 billion dollars), following the rise in shares of technology companies in the US. This performance makes Samsung the second company in Asia, after TSMC, to surpass this threshold. Samsung's market capitalization has exceeded that of the American conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway and is approaching that of retailer Walmart. Global stock markets have recorded record gains, especially due to the rise in shares of chip manufacturers for artificial intelligence. Samsung benefits from the increased demand for memory chips used in data centers, which has led to rising prices. In 2025, Samsung reported a net profit of 45.2 trillion won (approximately 30 billion dollars), due to the solid performance of its chip division. Samsung represents an essential pillar of the South Korean economy, with a global turnover constituting one-fifth of the country's GDP.
