Cushman & Wakefield Echinox analysis shows that Romania is becoming an attractive destination for international brands, with over 40 new retailers entering the market between 2020 and 2025. These brands, with global revenues of more than €80 billion, have mostly chosen shopping centers in Bucharest to launch. Most entries come from sectors such as apparel (26%), food & beverage (17%) and cosmetics (12%). In addition, the expansion of retail infrastructure is facilitating this trend, with most retailers preferring to open their own stores, reflecting confidence in the potential of the Romanian market.
