Radu Miruță stated that Romania must play a significant role in global discussions about rare earths, essential for the digital transition and emerging technologies. The new government resolution aims to update the national inventory of mineral resources, using modern technologies to accurately assess the quantities and purity of the deposits.
Miruță emphasized that rare earths should not be used in the interest of others, but for the benefit of Romania. Additionally, the adopted government resolution ensures that the Romanian state remains the holder of the license for the exploitation of graphite from Baia de Fier, Gorj County, thus strengthening control over critical mineral resources.
