The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced on Facebook that he continued technical discussions with international rating agencies, including representatives from Moody's, emphasizing the importance of these meetings for maintaining Romania's investment rating. Nazare highlighted the budgetary progress made in the last year, such as reducing the deficit and the prospect of reaching a target of 6.2% by 2026, supported by strict budgetary discipline.
He mentioned that these achievements were obtained under difficult geopolitical conditions, with pressures on energy prices and higher financing costs. He also warned that political instability affects investor confidence and the perception of risk regarding Romania.
Nazare stated that maintaining the country rating is a strategic objective, having a direct impact on financing costs and the ability to sustain investments. He promised that all available tools will be used to protect the results achieved.
