The interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, had a meeting on Friday with representatives of the financial evaluation agency Moody's, as part of the ongoing assessment of Romania. Nazare emphasized that the discussions are demanding, as agencies analyze not only financial figures but also political stability and the country's ability to continue fiscal reforms.

He presented the budget execution, the measures adopted to reduce the deficit, as well as the evolution of revenues and expenditures. Romania recorded a significant reduction in the deficit in the first semester, and revenues have increased, which supports the economy. Nazare mentioned the responsibility of political formations in adopting the reform projects from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, essential for attracting European funds.

All three major financial evaluation agencies have a negative outlook on Romania's sovereign rating, and the country is close to a junk rating, making it necessary to convey a clear message of stability and responsibility.
