According to the analysis conducted by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, Romania stands out with a property tax rate of only 0.5% of GDP, compared to the EU average of 1.9%. This low taxation has increased the attractiveness of the local real estate market, providing a favorable framework for owners and investors. In the last decade, the share of property taxes in GDP has decreased, and taxable values have not evolved in tandem with the increase in property prices, affecting revenues from this sector.
