The Vice President of the European Parliament, Nicu Ștefănuță, confirmed that Romania will launch the procedure to access the European Globalization Adjustment Fund (EGF) to support the 417 Amazon employees who were laid off. They will benefit from professional training programs, counseling, and support in retraining. The initiative was inspired by a precedent from 2012, when Romania obtained EGF funds for the Nokia case. This effort underscores the commitment to strengthen social protection in the context of global changes in the labor market.
