The state company Parpublica from Portugal announced that only three potential investors have expressed interest in acquiring a minority stake in the airline TAP. Their identities have not been disclosed, but Air France-KLM, Lufthansa AG, and IAG SA, the owner of British Airways, have publicly confirmed their interest. The privatization of TAP was relaunched in July, after delays, with the aim of selling 44.9% of the shares to an airline capable of improving the carrier's competitiveness. The Portuguese Prime Minister mentioned that the privatization could also attract investors from outside the European Union. The deadline for expressing interest recently ended, and Parpublica will evaluate potential investors until December 12. Analysts estimate that the 44.9% stake is worth at least 700 million euros, considering TAP's strategic potential in international markets.
