Crude oil prices climbed on Monday, with Brent crude hitting $78.53 and 'light sweet crude' $75.35, amid fears of supply disruptions. US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities heightened anxieties and Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, vital for oil transportation. Analysts forecast continued price rises, estimating that a barrel of Brent crude could reach $100-110 a barrel. Gold prices have also fallen, with investors favoring the dollar.
