According to an analysis conducted by INS, in June 2026, net average salaries decreased in Education by 1.9% and in Health and Social Assistance by 0.3% compared to the previous month.
The largest annual decreases were observed in Aquaculture (-15%) and in the manufacturing of coke products and the processing of oil (-12.7%). Real wages decreased by 8.3% compared to June 2025, in the context of an inflation rate of 10.4%. Although most economic activities recorded increases in net average wages due to bonuses and aids, the public sector experienced declines in education and health.
Net average salaries increased by 3.5% compared to the previous year, with the largest increases in the manufacturing of tobacco products (26.3%) and advertising (17.4%). IT specialists had the highest net average salaries, at 13.5 thousand lei, while employees in aquaculture earned only 2.9 thousand lei.
Compared to the previous year, real wages increased by 1.3% in June 2025.
