The measure proposed by Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare aims to increase the minimum share capital for limited liability companies (LLCs) from 200 to 8,000 lei, bringing up to date a threshold that has not been changed since 1990. The change is intended to make it easier for the state to recover from insolvent companies. In addition, the transfer of shares in companies with debts will be prohibited, except in cases where guarantees are provided.
