Michelin announced that it will issue 95.4 million new shares, each with a nominal value of 4 lei. In 2024, the company recorded business of 5.6 billion lei, an increase compared to 5.3 billion lei in 2023, marking the third consecutive year with business exceeding one billion euros in Romania. Michelin managed to reduce losses from 77 million lei to 28.9 million lei, having a profit of 120 million lei in 2022. The company has over 5,000 employees and 3 factories in Romania. In the autumn of 2024, Michelin confirmed the transfer of support teams from the UK to Bucharest, also moving back-office positions from the factory in Stoke-on-Trent. Additionally, it will close the factory in Poland and move part of the production to Romania, due to lower costs. Romania has become a regional hub for Michelin's operations in Eastern Europe, playing an important role in coordinating business activities in 20 countries.
