The total estimated value of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in Romania reached 6.7 billion dollars in 2025, with a number of 275 operations, an increase of 3% compared to the previous year. According to EY's analysis, 70% of transactions did not have a disclosed value, a constant trend since 2022. However, transactions with disclosed value increased by 18%, reaching 3.7 billion dollars, supported by significant acquisitions such as the Regina Maria healthcare network. Strategic investors dominated the market, accounting for 88% of total transactions. The Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction sector was the most active, followed by Energy & Utilities and Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility. British investors were the most active, surpassing US investors for the first time. Globally, the number of M&A transactions decreased by 3%, and in Europe by 1%.
