The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, highlighted the importance of the free trade agreement signed in Asuncion between the European Union and Mercosur, calling it 'the greatest achievement' of the Latin American integration bloc, which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Milei emphasized that this agreement has major political and economic implications for all member countries and for the entire world. He mentioned that the achievement of this ambitious pact is the result of Argentina's efforts during the rotating presidency of the bloc. Additionally, Milei stressed the need for the parliaments of the Mercosur countries to ratify the agreement without imposing different conditions, in order to maintain 'the spirit of negotiations' from the past 26 years. The agreement will create a market of 700 million people, constituting the largest free trade area in the world.
