On Sunday, international oil prices recorded a significant increase during the trading session, according to information provided by Mediafax. The price of American oil rose by 6.4%, reaching $87.88 per barrel, while Brent oil, the international benchmark, increased by 6.5%, reaching $96.25 per barrel. This market reaction came after a period of uncertainty, during which hopes rose but were then dashed, especially in the context of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Sunday’s increases partially offset the losses recorded on Friday, when the price of oil fell by over 9%, following statements from the Iranian foreign minister, who announced the reopening of the strait for commercial tankers.
