In 2025, Hidroelectrica had results affected by the decrease in electricity production and prices on the balancing market, recording the lowest hydroelectric production in the history of Romania. The company's revenues increased by 5%, reaching 9.6 billion lei, but EBITDA decreased by 17%, and operating profit fell by 20%. Total net electricity production decreased by 15%, and hydroelectric production dropped by 15%.
Despite unfavorable hydrological conditions, the company managed a recovery in the last quarters, supported by energy purchases. Hidroelectrica sold 14 TWh, with a 175% increase in energy purchases from the market. Selling prices increased, and revenues from electricity supply rose by 48%, reflecting an increase in the customer base and an effective adaptation to market conditions.
