The leader of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, launched an attack on Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, accusing him of promoting an austerity policy supported by part of USR and NGOs. Grindeanu stated that he agrees with President Nicușor Dan, emphasizing that the increase in the VAT rate was unnecessary, considering that the collections were not significantly better than last year.

He reiterated that PSD will not give up on the economic recovery package, considering it essential for the continuation of collaboration in the coalition. Grindeanu criticized attempts to decouple the two packages of measures, insisting that both must be approved simultaneously to ensure a stable economic direction.
