In November 2024, global sales of electric vehicles (EV) recorded the slowest growth rate since February, with an increase of only 6%, reaching nearly two million units. In China, sales grew by 3%, but this rate is the lowest since February. In contrast, in North America, registrations plummeted by 42%, to about 100,000 EVs, marking the first decline since 2019, amid the expiration of the $7,500 tax credit. In Europe, registrations increased by a third, thanks to national subsidies. Analysts anticipate a decline in sales in the U.S. and emphasize that the reduction of subsidies in China could affect consumer confidence. Additionally, the European Commission will propose changes to carbon emission regulations, including a ban on the sale of combustion engine cars by 2035.
