Four people, including employees of the Oradea Forestry Department, have been detained for illegal tree cutting in Băile Felix, following some searches.

The Bihor Police detained four individuals following six searches related to illegal deforestation in Băile Felix. Among those detained are two employees of the Oradea Forestry Office, accused of falsifying data regarding the exploitation of timber. The illegal activities took place between December 29, 2025, and January 23, 2026, when 16 trees of protected species were cut down and stolen, with an estimated value of over 10,000 lei.

Additionally, the underreporting of trees recorded in the forestry information system, Sumal 2.0, by employees of the Forestry Office is being investigated. The police continue their investigations under the supervision of the prosecutor to document the entire criminal activity.
