Ford Motor has reaffirmed its profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) forecasts for 2025, estimating it between $6 billion and $6.5 billion, despite a new fire at the Novelis plant in New York, a major aluminum supplier. Ford's shares rose by about 4% after this statement, with investors reacting positively. Although Ford lowered its profit forecast in October, estimating a gross impact of up to $2 billion due to the previous fire, the company intends to recover $1 billion by increasing production at certain plants. The fires have affected the production of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup and the gasoline version F-150. Novelis announced that it will resume operations by the end of December, accelerating the previously estimated timeline. Ford and Novelis will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
