Ford's significant losses in Europe have prompted the company to announce massive layoffs, particularly in Germany and the UK. The decision comes amid difficulties caused by low demand for electric cars, lack of government support for the switch to electric vehicles and competition from China. The restructuring measures will run until 2027.
