Fitch has decided to upgrade the rating of CEC Bank, reflecting the strengthening of the institution's financial profile, the solid level of capitalization, and prudent risk management. The Ministry of Finance, the representative of the state in the bank's shareholding, announced that the agency's analysis highlights the bank's ability to manage adverse economic scenarios, thanks to recently developed financial protection instruments. CEC Bank has invested in digitalization and the expansion of services, thus strengthening its position in the Romanian banking system.

Alexandru Nazare, the Minister of Finance, stated that the rating upgrade confirms the effectiveness of the consolidation measures implemented, emphasizing the importance of a solid public bank for financing the economy and supporting entrepreneurs. CEC Bank reported a net profit of 815.1 million lei for 2025, an increase of 18.5% compared to the previous year, and net assets grew by 8.4%, reaching 107.7 billion lei. This consolidation is considered strategic for the development of the local financial market.
