European stock markets rose, buoyed by expectations of a US-EU trade deal, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index up 1.1%.

European stock markets had a positive day, with the pan-European Stoxx Europe 600 index up 1.1%. Gains were fueled by hopes for a trade deal between the United States and the European Union, which could include a 15% unit tariff. Regional indices also performed favorably, with the FTSE 100 up 0.4%, the DAX up 0.8% and the CAC 40 up 1.4%.
