The Ministry of Commerce of China stated that the European Union's decision to include Chinese companies in the 20th package of sanctions against Russia contravenes previous agreements between China and the EU.
Beijing expressed "deep dissatisfaction" and a "firm opposition" to these sanctions, which are considered a undermining of the fundamental political commitments in bilateral relations.
The sanctions, announced this week, target suppliers from third countries of sensitive equipment, accusing Chinese companies of supporting Russia's military-industrial sector by providing dual-use goods.
China emphasized that, despite its repeated objections, the EU continued to impose these restrictions.
