Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency in the world by market value, has decreased by 6.53%, reaching $78,719.63, continuing the decline from the previous session when it hit a low of $81,104, the lowest level since November 21. This drop was influenced by the selection of Kevin Warsh as the future chairman of the Federal Reserve, which raised concerns that it could restrict liquidity in the financial system. Warsh has called for a reduction in the Fed's balance sheet, which could affect the positivity of speculative markets, including cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Ether has decreased by 11.76%, reaching $2,387.77. Brian Jacobsen, chief economist, emphasized that price declines can generate additional selling, and cryptocurrencies are facing a difficult period, losing a third of their value from the all-time highs in October last year.
