Professor Cristian Păun believes that raising taxes is not a viable solution to the budget deficit, which particularly affects SMEs. He points out that, according to the Informat.ro - INSCOP Barometer, 77% of Romanians support reducing public spending and suggest reforms such as privatization and restructuring of institutions. Păun warns that excessive taxation will hurt the real economy and consumers will bear the costs. He proposes prioritizing large infrastructure projects and improving the absorption of European funds to support local development.
