Two Romanians, aged 52 and 58, were arrested in Austria after returning to a store in the Villach-Land district, where they had previously stolen goods. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the store employees, already alerted to the previous thefts, recognized them and alerted the police.

The swift intervention of the authorities led to the discovery of consumer items and hygiene products in the suspects' car, believed to have originated from thefts. During the hearings, one of the suspects admitted involvement in the thefts, thus reinforcing the police's suspicions.

Although they were later released, a criminal case was opened against them, and the investigation continues to determine the extent of the thefts and any other affected stores. In Austria, repeated theft can lead to harsher penalties, including imprisonment of up to 2 years, and in the case of qualified theft, penalties can reach up to 5 years.
