A police officer from Arad was caught in Austria, along with his wife, stealing shoes from an outlet, with the damage estimated at approximately 3,000 euros. Austrian police stopped him on his return to the country, discovering several pairs of shoes and an anti-theft device in the trunk of the car.
Initially, the officer claimed that the shoes belonged to a friend, but his statement did not match that of his wife, which led him to confess to the facts. Although he did not inform his superiors about the incident, his colleagues found out, and a disciplinary investigation has now been initiated. The officer is made available to the management of IPJ Arad until the investigation in Austria is completed, and the procedure is expected to be similar to that applied for crimes committed on the territory of Romania.
