The authorities in Germany have discovered inhumane conditions in accommodation units for Romanian and Polish workers, immediately evacuating the affected apartments.

The authorities in Rietberg, Germany, have started inspections in accommodation units for Romanian and Polish workers, discovering unacceptable living conditions. Inspectors from the public order office searched 18 apartments, highlighting serious deficiencies, especially in the housing of factory workers.

Two of the properties were completely dilapidated, and workers were living in rooms of only 4.5 square meters. The operation, carried out over six days in July, led to the immediate evacuation of the apartments and the provision of alternative accommodation for the workers.

The authorities recorded 102 violations of the Federal Registration Act, including health issues caused by mold, lack of electricity, and inadequate fire safety. The purpose of these inspections is to protect residents and prevent fraud in the social assistance system.
