Approximately 60 Romanians are running for the local council elections in London scheduled for May 7, representing about 3.3% of the total candidates.
The majority of them are registered on behalf of the Reform UK party, but there are also candidates from the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Greens, and one independent.
Most Romanian candidates are found in East London, especially in areas like Barking and Dagenham or Newham. In total, the elections target all 32 local councils of the British capital, where over 1,800 councillors will be elected.
