A student from Timișoara was saved from suicide after a passerby alerted the police.

A 24-year-old young man, a student at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, was saved from an attempted suicide on a pedestrian bridge closed to traffic. The incident occurred around 8:00 AM when a passerby noticed the young man with a candle in hand, preparing to jump into the Bega River.

Local police officers on patrol were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene. After a discussion lasting about an hour, the young man was convinced to abandon his act and was taken to the Local Police headquarters, where it was established that he felt misunderstood and lost in life. He was later transported by ambulance to the psychiatry clinic for evaluation, and the family was informed about the incident.
