A 25-year-old man from Galați has been placed under house arrest for violating the regime of explosive precursors and trafficking in toxic substances.

A 25-year-old man from Galați has been placed under house arrest for 30 days, after police discovered, following a search, 72 kilograms and 35 liters of dangerous chemical substances.

The search took place on April 8, as part of an operation by the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service, aimed at investigating crimes related to the non-compliance with the regime of explosive precursors and trafficking of toxic products.

Some of the substances found were stored in a dryer on the staircase of the building, being used for chemical experiments. After an initial 24-hour detention, the man was presented to the court, which decided to place him under house arrest. Authorities continue investigations to clarify the circumstances of the case.
